Fancy Pants Outing Date TBA – Walnut Creek

Coming soon: Fancy Pants outing to Walnut Creek thrift and consignment shops!  There’s a large number of great thrift shops in Walnut Creek, so we can’t efficiently hit all of them in a single outing; I’ve selected two of my favorites.  There are fewer consignment stores, and the two below are simply the best I’ve encountered in town.

Here’s the proposed itinerary:

10 am – Leftovers Thrift Shop (2333 Boulevard Circle, Walnut Creek, CA 94595)

Leftovers is in a tiny space in a dated strip mall adjacent to Mount Diablo Blvd., and its proceeds are directed to Contra Costa Crisis and Suicide Center.  An abundance of designer garments in a variety of sizes make this shop an enticing destination – along with its nice collection of eveningwear.  It’s cash or check only in this store.

11:15 am – Discovery Shop (1538 Locust St, Walnut Creek CA 94596)

Discovery Shop boasts a great storefront on the ever-happening Locust Street, and benefits the American Cancer Society.  I’ve rarely left empty-handed.  This store accepts cash or plastic.

12:30 pm – Lunch (bring or buy your own)

1:15 pm – Main Street Rags (1380 North Main Street, Walnut Creek, CA 94596)

Main Street Rags is a cute shop plopped amid other cute shops in the busy downtown shopping district.  Prices are reasonable, stock is regularly rotated, and the racks are organized by type and color.

2:30 pm – Labels (1367 North Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596)

Labels is definitely on the high end, though discount racks in the back of the store offer fantastic deals on high quality garments.  I find the stock not as easy to navigate, as many items are organized by designer rather than garment type.  However, the huge shoe section compensates for this inconvenience.
