Earth tone

I’m liking this.

I like the casual look, the sportiness, and the pulled-together feel.  The earthiness.

whew! i suck at being a style blogger. i have never been anywhere near caught up on blog reading and commenting! that said, i’ve been gnoshing on all your faboo OOTD pix and have a few suggestions to kick things up a notch (if you like to try them). With a big “For What It’s Worth”:

    1) wear more fitted pants, in stretch fabric if that makes it comfier. Like the way the skirt fits in March 27 post

You should show off your legs, they’re a great shape!! Also,re: your stumpifying obsession – adding more bulk does do that to legs. Go for fitted, skimming, no bagging. (if you’re like me you’ll feel like an utter tramp the first few times you wear properly fitting bottoms. : 0 But your eye adjusts, and with 5% lycra it’s all good!)

    2) Breaking up your torso and wearing a popped collar brings the focus to your face and, again, makes for pleasing proportions. Your caBI surplice top does this beautifully (cut and print), as do your various argyle sweaters. In this post
i esp. like outfit 1 and outfit 4 (even more with the Tweeds jacket!!). & both looks in this post
look great along the same principles.

this look with your doncaster jacket is awesome:
Not many ladies can wear a double breasted cut, you have plenty of space in the torso so if you like them just go for it! Make it a trademark!!

In sum I’m liking you best in a substantial vee shape at the neckline, some sort of collar, a center line down the torso (zip, cardi buttons, etc.) plus additional detail of pockets, stripes, pattern, or etc.

    3) your glasses are very pretty and flattering and in balance with your face and figure. The one thing they aren’t is very modern-looking. When you’re next due for frames maybe consider some frames with a more up to date look? it makes it harder to look current if such a big part of your everyday look is not quite there. Fashions change, that’s all. Fiddle.

Again, with a very big ‘for what it’s worth, your mileage may vary, try it if you feel like it’, etc. It’s always easier to (think you) see overall trends on someone else, rather than yourself! I think just a few tweaks in how you wear things will really give you a fresh feel with your look – you already look so beautiful! all my love to you, d & s, steph

I’m so with you on the color thing! Looking back at the outfits I enjoy the most, it’s either a fun mix of browns or a pop of color.

Glasses … ugh! I have such a hard time finding frames that don’t dominate my face. It’s about time to visit the eye doctor, so the dreaded search must begin. I’m thinking of a light golden brown frame, but I’ll have to try 1 or 2 or 75 to see what works best.

Oh as for the fitted pants … I have some really nice fitted trousers, including a pretty pair in pewter silk that go with just about every top I own. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to do up the top button. So …. crunches are likely in my future.

        ha! notice i said ‘stretch’.

        it was deliberate. 😉

and how i love scarves!! tony thinks they’re instant matron, i don’t know where he got the stink eye for them. his loss, steph

        Tony, Tony, Tony. **sigh**

I so love scarves! I really, really need to get some new ones. I’m wearing out the few I currently own. Maybe you and I should go scarf hunting this weekend!
